Inspired by... dreams

Thank God for the rain!  If you're in a place that needs rain, I pray you got some last night. We had several drenching showers overnight and as I sit on my front porch this morning, listening to the call of "pretty bird" and the rolling thunder of the boyz truck as they head off to work, I'm also blessed to be enjoying the sound of rain dripping off the roof.

It's been a rough week. I've been fighting a summer cold {aren't those the worst?} and a family member was hospitalized.  I lost my voice for two days.  Even with email, text and the etch-a-sketch the twins left in the car, I found it frustratingly difficult to communicate!

As we drove back and forth to the hospital each day, I found myself gazing up at the cloud-filled skies.

My favorite sky is one filled with big, billowy clouds.  As I gazed out the car window, I thought, that's where I am.  Up there, in the clouds with my dreams.

But I don't live there. And I could imagine myself, sort of gathering my dreams together, as one would gather a bouquet of flowers, down into myself where I sat in the car.

Because here's the thing; the two aren't separate. My dreams are a part of my reality. They are a part of who I am. And, consciously or not, they play a part in the decisions I make in every day life.  That's why it's so important for our dreams to be Godly dreams.

Dreams born and achieved out of our selfish desires, will never truly fulfill us.

"Delight yourself in the Lord; and He will give you the desires of your heart." Psalm 37:4

Clouds have often been used to represent dreams, and rightly so, I think. They're big and lofty and slightly out of reach.

But clouds do touch the earth at times.  There is a magical place in Hawaii called the cloud forest.  I've been there and touched the clouds {or maybe they touched me}.  And I know I'll realize my dreams.

Well, some of them anyway.  It's good to always have something to strive for.

Have a wonder-filled day!

Sharing inspiration here:

Kim's TT theme this week is natural. And what could be more natural than clouds?  The "dreams" image is textured with her lovely "now" and "stamped softly" textures.

  1. Hope you get better real soon.

  2. I hope you are feeling better!
and I can send you all the rain you want, we had quite a lot of rain here in Ireland.

If you read something here that inspired you, I’d love to hear about it. Please know I appreciate every comment! Thanks so much for stopping by! Blessings, June
