Inspired by . . . beauty

"Love is beautiful, but it is also terrible—

terrible in its determination to allow nothing

blemished or unworthy to remain in the beloved."

~ Hind's Feet In High Places, Hannah Hurnard

Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away.

For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone;

The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come,

and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land;

The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell.

Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away.

Song of Songs 2:10-13

I sleep, but my heart is awake.

Song of Songs 5:2

Do not arouse or awaken love until it so desires.

Song of Songs 2:7

I'm joining Bonnie and her ever-growing gallery of amazing artists over at Pixel Dust Photo Art today.  Please join us.

Her theme this week is Abstract Flowers – I couldn't wait to get started – and, obviously, I couldn't pick just one!

These were created with the elements shown below. All textures are from Bonnie's shop.

  1. oh ... these! i'm craving spring, color, light, some kind of texture beyond wet snow. you've taken me there this morning. what a gift! thank you, my friend.

  2. Man, those are really cool. I like the middle one the best! That white fading to lavender is stunning.

  3. I really like these. I had a hard time being abstract. I'm enjoying seeing how everyone else portrayed this theme.

  4. Beautiful flowers. We used those verses on our wedding invitations and again on our programs.

  5. These are all lovely, but think the second is my most favorite. Aren't these so much fun to do!!!

  6. Just beautiful and all the more so with the accompanying text. Love the soft, romantic dreaminess of the second image, June

  7. Fabulous! - You really paired that lovely rose with some wonderful textures and gave them a very romantic look. I enjoyed them very much and the words you paired with them as well.

  8. You have put your heart in all of these and it shows ... very touching pieces with the richness of your words.

  9. I love how it looks like you applied textured paper strips upon paper strips kind of like you applied paper mache to your flower to make it look like silk. Lovely and love the colors. :)

  10. The scripture passages are some of my favourites and your images intensify my longing for spring and flowers and warmth. Beautiful work.

  11. Oh my gosh, June, these are stunning! Beautiful work!

  12. amazing grace, June. just amazing grace... WOW!!!

  13. These are really beautiful edits! I love your choice of colors in the first one.

Thanks so much for your visit and lovely comment about my photography. :)

  14. I love your photos! They're gorgeous with or without the edits. I'm looking forward to spring and summer, and all the opportunities the seasons afford in photography.

  15. I really feel fascinated by this post, these images and these quotes ... I seem to live in a daydream !!
I'm going to begin my week with the sun in my heart, thank you my dear friend ♥ ♥ ♥

  16. I love Hind's Feet in High Places {game changer for me} and these pieces are beautiful. Perfect for Inspire Me Monday. They inspire me to take what is given and make beauty out of it in creative ways! Thank you so!

  17. Lovely... very nice post! Have a nice day, Cath.

  18. beautiful photo compositions - I love the sheerness enabling one to look through the layers

  19. These are all combinations of my favorite colors.

  20. June, So inspiring to see flower images portrayed in an abstract manner. Lovely use of textures and creative techniques.

  21. What a lovely post! I love the pictures and especially love the Scriptures. Yes, praise God, spring is here, and soon all will bloom again. God is so faithful! Thank you for stopping by my blog today and leaving encouragement behind. It meant so much! God be with you and keep you in His care!

  22. That's a great post, June! and lovely photos. Thanks for stopping in today at Cranberry Morning. When I saw your last name, it rang a bell for 3 reasons: I had just looked up Caedmon by the Venerable Bede, and also because later when I went to text the name 'Caedmon' into my (stupid)smartphone, it overwrote my Caedmon and turned it into Cardamom. And, because one of the vets at our local vet clinic is Caedmon :-) Blessings!

  23. Your whole blog is so beautiful!
    I follow you now...
    Greetings from Germany :-)
