Inspired by . . . beauty

"Love is beautiful, but it is also terrible—

terrible in its determination to allow nothing

blemished or unworthy to remain in the beloved."

~ Hind's Feet In High Places, Hannah Hurnard

Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away.

For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone;

The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come,

and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land;

The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell.

Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away.

Song of Songs 2:10-13

Do not arouse or awaken love until it so desires.

I'm joining Bonnie and her ever-growing gallery of amazing artists over at Pixel Dust Photo Art today.  Please join us.

Her theme this week is Abstract Flowers – I couldn't wait to get started – and, obviously, I couldn't pick just one!

These were created with the elements shown below. All textures are from Bonnie's shop.

  9. I love how it looks like you applied textured paper strips upon paper strips kind of like you applied paper mache to your flower to make it look like silk. Lovely and love the colors. :)

  22. That's a great post, June! and lovely photos. Thanks for stopping in today at Cranberry Morning. When I saw your last name, it rang a bell for 3 reasons: I had just looked up Caedmon by the Venerable Bede, and also because later when I went to text the name 'Caedmon' into my (stupid)smartphone, it overwrote my Caedmon and turned it into Cardamom. And, because one of the vets at our local vet clinic is Caedmon :-) Blessings!
