Inspired by. . . perspective

This is, at times, a difficult word to hear.

But I have found that it is a good word. A word that causes me to search my motives.

Am I serving God to gain praise and admiration? or some future reward in heaven?

Should I seek praise for doing what I ought to do?

Do I deserve praise? Am I entitled to it?

Or is my doing simply a response to the unconditional love that I receive, by grace, from the Father?

Am I doing something for a friend to gain an advantage in the relationship, or because I desire some thing from them in return?

Are my expectations of my family based on what I do for them?

Or do I give of myself with no expectations...

...desiring nothing in return?

Not even a thank you.

Scripture and Snapshot

  1. June, a perspective that we all need. Thank you for sharing- a great way to begin a new week.

  2. Hi June
Wow! This is a difficult one, but necessary! I know that my heart truly is deceitful like Jeremiah tells us so vividly, so I need to often ask our Lord to search me and see if there is any wicked way in me! Nice to meet you at Barbie's. this is ,my first visit to your blog and you have challenged me, thank you.

  3. Your words remind me of a training session last week for a mission trip later this year- the reason for all we do is Jesus.

  4. It's so true that there is a difference between doing and truly serving. Great post.

If you read something here that inspired you, I’d love to hear about it. Please know I appreciate every comment! Thanks so much for stopping by! Blessings, June
